I GUESS WE WILL ALL BE BETTER WITH PEOPLE WHO..

Published by isang under blah blah blah

  1. share our faith and are eager to grow with us spiritually
  2. are God fearing, patient, kind and forgiving: humble to admit a fault and are accountable for their actions
  3. uphold the value of honesty: who are truthful to themselves and to others
  4. love us passionately but are still able to think and act rationally
  5. are able to make and be faithful to a commitment
  6. need us and will be there for us come what may
  7. accept, understand and respect the persons we are, and who we want to be; encourage and support us to be the best that we can be, even if it requires change
  8. are resilient — who are not afraid to take risks and rejections, and are able to make and be firm in their decisions
  9. are socially aware and morally responsible in dealing with their lives and with others
  10. can be independent and still be considerate of what others think and feel
  11. have an insatiable curiosity, eagerness to learn what is still to come and yet have a contented heart: who are grateful for what already is
  12. who know and understand their feelings and are not afraid to show it
  13. are able to communicate well: who really listen and are brave enough to express themselves, risking their vulnerability
  14. who make us happy and are happy to be with us — who have a sensible humor and let their guards down with us
  15. can make time for us no matter how busy they can get because we are more important than anything else in their world

i guess it’s a tall order..but it is very much possible to have someone that we can actually share our lives with. remember though, that we cannot ask for something we are not prepared to give ourselves. in the end, we cannot really ask for perfection, no matter how hard we strive for it. and it is only fair to give back what we want so much to receive.

Pana-panahon

minsan nakakahilo na ang patuloy

na pag-ikot ng mundo;

na tila wala namang pinatutunguhan

dahil parang walang nagbabago.

at ang bawat paglipat ng pahina

ng kalendaryo ay walang saysay

dahil ang oras ay di tumitigil –

di natitinag sa kung anumang pangyayari

ang dumaan at lumipas.

na kung iisipin mong mabuti

ay iyong mapagtatanto

na lahat ng nagaganap ay nangyari na

at patuloy na mangyayari

pilitin mo mang baguhin ang iyong

kapalaran.

kayat mabuti pang hayaan na lang

ang bawat kasaysayan

dahil kahit ayaw mo na itong balikan,

pilit nitong ipaaalala

na hindi kainlanman natatapos ang nakaraan

makailang bukas man ang magdaan.

Ego = Self

Published by isang under blah blah blah

Despite the time, distance and efforts to leave the past behind, there are some things you can’t run away from. There is no escaping love, karma and truth — which is almost always stranger than fiction.

As much as I would like to believe that the past is over and done with, there is no denying that who you are now, who you’re with and who you’ve become is ultimately a by-product of what you had learned and experienced. And that no matter how hard you work for something you aspire to be, when tomorrow comes, nothing will guarantee success. It is only what you have now that is within your control. And so the only way to make the most out of it is to give in and live it.

Ultimately, you know yourself better than anyone else in this lifetime. So no matter how people put you down, that faith in yourself will save you from anything. This isn’t about pride or self-centeredness, it is about knowing yourself well. Because in the end, you’ll never be able to give anything you don’t have.

Meaningless

Published by isang under blah blah blah

Funny how some things leave us feeling used and empty no matter how good it was intended to be. And that despite all the goodness you try to spread, not everything that comes back to you is what you deserve. Life is not always fair, and almost always, it cuts both ways.

Karma is free flowing and unbound but sometimes, it takes forever. That is why I am amazed at the brilliant way Neil Gaiman has depicted Destiny in his Endless Nights — as a blind guy perpetually walking with a big book in his hands. Maybe destiny is indeed blind. That is why we have to make it good the first time because we only have one life to live. If we can’t make it right, at least we can try to make it good.

Maybe it’s the weather. Maybe I’m having the blues. Or I may be just tired. Tired of waiting..and hoping..and wishing for something better..but then again..I’d rather be kept waiting and wanting than not having anything at all.
